The new office software looks so much more modern, I like the new colors and the new software has way more options than older one. The newer one is more organized and looks easier to operate. The new one looks less complicated than the one we are currently using, and I think we should switch to it.

Top 10 Tech Skills

1. Typing; with typing I think i am doing well with both speed and accuracy.

2. Word Processing; I already had basic knowledge of this, but taking this class gave me even more knowledge of how to use things I didn’t even know existed.

3. Spreadsheets; I have the basic idea of spreadsheets, but I don’t think I’ll be using this program much in the future.

4. Powerpoints; Powerpoints are pretty straight forward, so I’m pretty sure I know what I’m doing with that.

5. Email; I’ve been writing emails since I was about 10. So, I know what thats all about.

6. Electronic Calendar; I have never used one of these before, but I use something like it on my cellphone.

7. Social Networking Sites; If facebook is a social networking site, then I’m pretty much an expert.

8. Basic Computer Upkeep; I only know the names of the ports I use often, but i’m really computer savvy.

9. I am good at finding things I need to find on search engines like google.

10. Database Use; I always remember my passwords, but I haven’t changed any for about 2 years.

Cell Phone Law

I think they made a good choice to ban cell phones while driving because I’ve heard multiple stories about people getting into serious accidents and even dying while using a cell phone, whether it be a calling or texting problem. I think it would make more sense to ban texting other than calling because holding a phone up to your ear is the same as holding a cigarrette to your mouth, and thats not law.

One exception I think they should make is if there is an emergency like a 911 thing and you need to call, or if someone is giving you directions to a place, then you should be able to use your cell phone in times like that because not everyone has a blue tooth or something installed into their car that allows handsfree talking.

The Holidays

Over the holidays, my grandparents come to our house and spend Christmas Eve and morning with us, as well as my auntie Joleen, uncle Mike, and the new addition, my baby cousin Brooklynn. I am always super excited for those two days because I absolutely love the atmosphere around the house and how everyone is so happy and forgiving. Nobody really has a problem with anything at that time of year, I love it!

Later Christmas morning, our family normally travels to Melville to spend the rest of the holidays with the other side of the family, and my favourite part of our trip to Melville is without a doubt, getting to see my best friend in the whole entire world, Carmen! Definitely miss her like crazy.

On boxing day, it is tradition to go ice fishing. Yeah.. not one of my favourites. I sit in the shack, and eat food to keep myself warm, and the rest of the family gets to drink and feel NO pain, not fair! But I still love the way I hate this day, its tradition.

Best Job In The World

Is the Island Caretaker the best job? Yes, one hundred percent, I think it would be awesome to get payed to basically be on a vacation!

Would you have applied for this job? I would have definitly applied for this job, but if other people aren’t allowed to come, that would suck.

Why or why not? You would get treated like royalty, and get paid. I don’t think it gets any better than that.

What type of responsibilities does this employee have? He basically has to go to the island, tour it, eat food, pretty much vacation there, and then report back and tell his opinion of all the attractions.

Google Voice

Google Voice is an app on the iphone that is said to maybe be putting phone companies out of business. It was banned because it threatened the profits of phone companies.

Is the app still going to be available? Will it be available in the future? Why was google feeling threatened?

I was confused if the app was banned or not, so I’m not sure if it is available anymore.

I would like to learn more about how to get the app and if it is actually free, or if it is just a scam.

Switcheroo

If I was given the opporitunity to switch places with someone in the world I would have to pick someone like Bill Gates. I would wanna see what it’s like to be really famous and extremely weathly. I would take advantage of having the servants and a huge house. I would love to have his intelligence.

I would not like to trade places witha drug addict. I would hate the cravings and just feeling like complete crap because your body needs that drug to live. I think it would be horrible to feel that feeling of addictition every minute of your live. I would cry.

The Negative Effects Of Technology On Kids

This article is about the nergative effect technology is starting to have on children. It talks about how children are going to grow up with technology, teach their kids, and then everyone is just going to depend on it because it will just seem so normal. It also talks about all the different issues of technology in detail.

After reading this article, I am left wondering about why people don’t just lift the law of downloading songs and movies off the internet illegal because everyone does it. I know for a fact that probably half of youtube users downloaded the songs they posted on their account.

I completely agree with that statement. That is all kids really do is watch tv or play on the computer in their spare time. I know from experience that you just don’t know what to do, but I, myself, would just go out and do something active instead of sitting at home, but if those things are working and in order, I will often sit at home and be on the computer.

The iPod Is Dead

This article didn’t bring me much interest because I don’t keep up with the latest in technology and I could really care less.

I think that if he added all that stuff, people would start buying it for all it’s purposes. So I do agree with him.

Restaurant Inspections

None of the reports really surprised me, nothing to major. Most of the stuff written down was small, like not having correct maintenance or the temperature in the fridge not being right. They didn’t surprise me because most of the places look clean, and the reports don’t change my opinion of the restraunts, and I will continue eating there because nothing in the reports really concerned me. I think the public should always have access to reports like these, I honestly think they should post the reports up on the doors so people are ensured that the food they’re eating is safe.
